Pre-Op Information

Once your surgery is scheduled, Dr. Greenberg will let you know where it will take place.

You will be instructed to make an appointment with your primary care physician at least one week before admission for a history, physical exam, and a letter of clearance for surgery. These documents will need to be faxed to our office. Our fax number is 212-319-9778.

In addition, you will need to go for pre-operative testing at the hospital where you will be having your surgery. Pre-operative testing includes blood count, blood chemistry, clotting time, urinalysis, chest X-ray, and EKG. Our office will make the appointment and will inform you of the time, date and location.

Some surgical procedures require that you have blood available. Because there is none safer than your own, we arrange for you (whenever medically feasible) to have an autologous blood donation.

After the above is completed, the hospital will let you know when and where to report for your surgery.
