Utilizing computer modeling and 3-dimensional CT imaging, Dr. Greenberg fabricates a model of the patients bone structure and designs a custom implant for the surgical procedure. The surgery can be performed using the patients own bone taken from the hip, skull or jaw or alloplastic materials (not from self) such as silicone or other synthetics.
Chin Surgery
In addition to enhancement of the cheek area, chin augmentation is routinely performed by
Dr. Greenberg. There are two basic methods of performing chin augmentation. One technique, performed through an incision inside the mouth, advances the chin by moving the lower section of bone forward and wiring it into place. Another method uses a small implant inserted through the mouth or underneath the chin. State-of-the-art chin surgery can be achieved with CT scanning, 3D models and with either custom implants or bone surgery.
Cheiloplasty/Lip Reduction
Lip reduction is surgery to reduce the appearance of larger or fuller than desirable lips. Although it is a fairly simple procedure, it can make a big difference to a patient who is unhappy with the size of their lips. Dr. Greenberg removes a section of tissue from the inside of the lip and sutures it with either dissolvable or non-dissolvable type sutures. The procedure itself takes about 3/4 hour. If non-dissolvable sutures are used, they are usually removed 7-10 days after the surgery. The procedure produces moderate to severe swelling, which should abate within two weeks. However, final results may not be seen until 3-4 months postoperatively.
Dr. Greenberg performs his plastic surgical procedures in the office or hospital under operating room conditions to ensure proper sterility and surgical techniques.
