- Local Anesthesia Injections are given to numb the specific area
- Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen (Laughing Gas)
- General Anesthesia While I.V. (intravenous) drugs are administered to make
you sleepy for the procedure, local injections are also given to ensure you wake up pain-free
Instructions for Patients Undergoing Intravenous Anesthesia
- Nothing to eat or drink (including water) for eight (8) hours prior to the appointment.
- A responsible adult must accompany the patient home.
- The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.
- Wear loose-fitting clothing with sleeves which can be rolled up past the elbow and low-heeled shoes. Contact lenses, jewelry and dentures must be removed prior to surgery.
